Vibe Magazine with Kiate Moy of A4A

Ive been on my Styling grind serious for the last 2 years and the last 7months have been awesome I received a call from Photographer Timothy Paule https://www.facebook.com/timothy.paule.9 asking me can I do a a shoot short notice for a guy and its for Vibe Magazine ...uhhhhhh hello ...YES I CAN ... He gave me the contact info to the Ceo Kiate Moy  of http://www.access4artists.com/  (a4a) is a new global online talent discovery platform that connects and promotes artists across multiple disciplines. The site is a dynamic digital hub that keeps fans informed and engaged and empowers these ʻtastemakersʼ to take an active role in launching their favorite artistsʼ success.

After our initial talk we hit it off on what was his look and what was he trying to convey being that it was a National magazine and he was being interviewed by  Editor Datwon Thomas Editor ...Here is  looks I came up with ...

Kiate on Inspiration: For me I was just saying to my friends, "Wow. This cat needs to be on stage with Lady Gaga". I saw this rock band and I was like, "Wow!" Two brothers and one white guy and they were banging it out. I was like, this is what we do this for. Like there's this artist named Ro-Spit, he did this song with Freeway, he's from Detroit. See, he got the talent to do it, he just doesn't have the platform...Access for Artists. That's what we're trying to do.

On the  Long Range Plan:
To embody everything for entertainment so that a kid from Brooklyn, so that the kid from Wichita, if he wants to make it, he can come on and get everything. I want to be the Walmart of entertainment. I want people to be able to say I got my beat from here, my lawyer from here, my accountant from here, I want to be that one stop shop in entertainment. And most importantly we want to redefine success. The success may not mean being Jay-Z.

You can read the entire Interview here http://www.vibe.com/article/access4artistscom-wants-help-you-shine ... This was a great opportunity to link with a great company and do what I love also have my work on a Major site|Magazine ... More to come stay tuned ....

Kanye x Fuzzy

...Ok like everyone else when listening to Kanye's Mercy what stuck out the most was the Jamaican sample and what was he saying and towards the end he was was going crazy ... so I had to investigate lol  I did not know if it was a sample or if he had someone speaking patios on the track ...during my investigation I found out it was Fuzzy Jones a Reggae legend that was the go to guy for that shit talking Patios braggadocio. Before his [rip] in 2005—when he was hit by a car while riding his bike near Arrow’s dub studio in Kingston, Jamaica—Fuzzy became so well known that his voice was immortalized on numerous soundcla!!hemed records like the classic King Tubby’s disc seen above. Read on to find out where the “Mercy” sample came from…
The G.O.O.D. Music track, produced by Lifted, opens with a lengthy sample of one of Fuzzy’s greatest intros, taken from Super Beagle’s “Dust A Soundboy” on Winston Riley’s mighty Stalag Rid dim.

Fuzzy gets it popping half way thru the song when its time for the bridge..for those that didn't understand  the Jamaican Patios(accent and native language )here you go “WELL—It is a weeping and a moaning and a gnashing of teeth in the dance hall—and who no have teeth gwine run pon them gums. Caw when time it comes to my sound, which is the champion sound, the bugle has blown so many times, and it still have one more time left, caw the amount of stripe weh deh pon our shoulder. Nah bother sound test we, and them can’t test we. COME Super Beagle and your girl!” Big up Fuzzy,  It’s all G.O.O.D.“

SUPERMODE

I had the honor to work with Supermodel Nyanyai Deng last October when photographer C.W Jacobs (ATL) was in town to shoot her I received a call from the Erollings Group to style this shoot and I'm thankful for the opportunity . The Sudanese beauty was a delight and everything I hoped she would be very candid and cool and humble, the shoot was late and she still had a hour drive back to Saginaw and never once complained she's a professional .Prior to us shooting I seen her on the cover of BLAC magazine and immediately wanted to work with her ...

Not long after our shoot I seen her in a 8 page spread in Essence and then on the cover of Pop
Africana magazine and I felt honored to have work with someone on the rise ...
